Niton Library is a member of Yellowhead Regional Library. Niton Library is also a member of The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) and of The Alberta Library (TAL). Our participation in The Alberta Library gives our patrons access to 15 million items in over 230 Alberta libraries.
Residents of Yellowhead County may acquire a library card provided that proper identification is shown.
Your library card is The Alberta Library (TAL) card. This means that as a member of Niton Library, you may borrow and return books at any Alberta Library.
To obtain a library membership we ask that you either be over the age of 18 or have their guardian come in to sign a card. A letter will be sent to parents/legal guardians alerting them to their responsibility for items borrowed.
If you lose your library card please contact the library immediately to avoid the unauthorized use of your library card.
If you move or change your phone number please notify us as soon as possible in order to keep your file up to date.
At anytime you may call the library and book an appointment to get help learning computer techniques. These can include Internet, E-mail, Word, Excel, and more! Call 780-795-2474 to book an appointment today!
We are excited to announce that the fee for memberships has now been waived! The Yellowhead County Library Board has made this possible so if you see them give them a wave of THANKS! Late Fees Print materials $0.10 cents per day Non-print $0.25 cents per day
Niton Central School does photocopy for $0.20 cents per page, just see Trudy in the school office. The school also offers laminating and faxing for a fee.
The library owns a projector that you can hook up to your computer for weddings and reunions. The projector may be lent out at the discretion of the Library Manager. Everyone borrowing the projector must sign a waiver requiring, in the event that parts are broken, the replacement of either the broken parts or the entire projector. All that is asked is a donation to the library. Come in and ask Toni about it.
